Longmont’s Oskar Blue’s open on New Year’s Day, and we were there
As you might know if you also follow my travel blog, my husband and I drove north for Cheyenne’s second annual New Year’s Eve ball drop. Beccause New Year’s Day was sunny, because I had never been to Nebraska and because it was “so close” (a mere 40 miles or so to the state line), we embarked a mini road trip east on Interstate 80 to the first exit in Nebraska for a U-turn and back again. As a result, we were pretty hungry by the time we reached Longmont. Fortunately, Oskar Blu es was open — and serving a midweek lunch menu.
We had lunch in a brew pub still festively decorated with Christmas items that shimmered and shined in the long afternoon light — but neither of us wanted a mid-day beer. We enjoyed tasty, reasonably priced sandwiches and then continued home.
Price check: Lunch prices agreeably low, with sandwiches in the $6.99 -$7.99 range.
