Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association’s upcoming event known for super food
Much as I might want to, there’s no way that I can write posts about all of the Denver metro area’s worthwhile fundraisers with fine food and wines, each event usually including a terrific silent auction too. But there is one I want to mention. The Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association’s fourth annual Delightful Dishes & Dreamy Getaways on February 22 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the legendary Brown Palace.Hotel is a standout.
This hospitality industry-sponsored event is open to the public and costs just $49. What a deal to spend so little to taste so much good food at 15 food stations featuring culinary creations by some of the state’s best chefs, plus a hosted bar.No additional taxes or gratuities (except for the coat and parking), so $49 is $49. I went last year, and was blown away by the food both in terms of quality and quantity — and the wines too.
If you go, be tempted, or not, to bid at the event’s live and silent auctions with more than 120 items to bid on. Think airline tickets, lift tickets, inclusive travel packages with airfare, magnums of wine, overnight stays and packages at hotels and resorts across the state, spa packages, sporting event tickets, sports memorabilia and more.
Delightful Dishes & Dreamy Getaways benefits Volunteers of American and the Readiness Fund, which supports pro-tourism legislation in Colorado to ensure that the industry continues its success in employing Coloradans. Buy tickets online. The Bown Palace Hotel & Spa is at 321 17th Street, Denver.
