Tuesday, September 6. Culinary Cinema Night, part of the ongoing Culinary Cinema Series, a partnership between the Colorado Restaurant Association and Denver Film Society, the Denver Food + Wine Festival will kick off with an evening comprised of great food, great drinks and a great movie. An exclusive screening of an engaging culinary film will be paired with wine, cocktails and bites from Denver’s notable chefs.
Wednesday, September 7. Dinner Under the Stars, which is new for 2016, celebrates the best of what Colorado’s culinary scene has to offer. Each course of the curated, five-course prix fixe meal is designed by a different acclaimed chef and served in a beautiful outdoor setting.
Friday, September 9. SHAKE DOWN, a cocktail event. Top bartenders from the Colorado Bartenders’ Guild compete to make Denver’s “Best Cocktail” selected by lively voting by attendees one deserving bartender with the evening’s top honor. All cocktails prepared with spirits from Denver Food + Wine Festival spirit sponsors. Also, bites from Colorado chefs.
Friday, September 9. Riedel Wine Glass Seminar Learn about glassware designed since 1756 to enhance different types of wines Riedel ambassador Doug Reed presents an educational and entertaining event to change the way people drink wine through a fascinating tasting. Reed demonstrates the relationship between the shape of a wine glass and the drinker’s perception and enjoyment of different varietals. Attendees will experience first-hand the ways in which the appropriate stemware fully delivers the bouquet, taste, balance and finish of a wine to the senses, and will leave the seminar with their own four-glass Reidel tasting kit, valued at $120.
Saturday, September 10. Denver Food + Wine Festival (DF+WF) Grand Tasting Tents, the festival’s hallmark event that unites Colorado’s culinary leaders -– award-winning chefs, mixologists and wine professionals – and leads guests on a culinary journey through the state’s burgeoning, dining scene. The open layout allows guests to eat, drink and explore the creations of more than 40 top restaurants, and more than 700 wines and spirits from the region’s most lauded wine professionals. For guests interested in additional unique experiences, the VIP Lounge at DF+WF features specialty wines selected by Southern Wine & Spirits Master Sommeliers, paired with tastes from 12 upscale restaurants. On the Viking Culinary Stage, demonstrations by celebrity award-winning Chefs. Plus a silent auction.
Sunday, September 11. Rise + Dine, billed as Denver’s first annual brunch festival, to showcase delicious breakfast delights from the city’s favorite a.m. joints. Attendees are encouraged to wear pajamas while noshing on food, enjoying mimosas and striving to make the most impressive Bloody Mary at the vast DF+WF Bloody Mary bar, which will be competing for the world record of “Largest Bloody Mary Bar” with more than 57 “accouterments.” Pajamas encouraged, but not mandatory.
