High-profile location for Colorado-based burger restaurant
Normally, another specialty burger restaurant in Denver would not be particularly noteworthy, but the opening of the 10th Larkburger just off the 16th Street Mall is worth mentioning because of its high-profile location — and the fact that it, like nearby Chipotle, is a Colorado chain that is known for quality food in a fast-casual format.
Larkburger won this year’s Denver Burger Battle and is known for fresh, natural ingredients, and it’s eco-friendly simply because it’s the right thing to do even though green practices are often more operationally expensive. For the new Downtown location this means sourcing chairs made from recycled plastic bottles, recycling canola oil for automotive fuel, providing cups, utensils and containers that are 100% biodegradable, and using reclaimed timber for the interior design. It is open daily from 10:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 1617 California Street, Denver.
