Cured to open on East Pearl this spring
Word on the local food street is that a new a new cheese and salumi shop on East Pearl. Sure enough, Cured promises to be open in spring — according to the home page of its website. I have no idea who is opening it or when in spring it’s coming, but I’m looking forward to it.
Some years ago, The Boulder Cheese Company — a charming little retail store on 15th Street, across from Liquor Mart — lasted for a while. We used to buy raclette cheese there and occasionally other cheeses too. They carried all sorts of cheese books and accessories, and I was sad when they closed. Maybe Boulder in general and that block in particular are more ready for a cheese shop. OTOH, Whole Foods and even the remodeled local King Soopers and Safeways have impressive cheese selections — and even Costco down the pike in Superior carries party-size cheeses that go way beyond Kraft American.
If anyone else in Boulder knows more, please add a comment. Meanwhile, join me in anticipation. Cured plans to open at 1825 Pearl Street.

That is excellent news! I’m so excited. I hope you’ll post when it’ll actually open and I’ll be ready to get my cheese on!
I received the following E-mail:
Hi Claire,
I noticed on your blog that you saw a bit about our project Cured!
We’re still pretty early on, but time is flying… We take our keys on the 1st of April and jump into construction ASAP. If we somehow manage to have the stars align for us we’d love to open the doors April 30th, but will likely be some time early in May. Once we have a bit of life in the space to show we’d love to have a coffee and share a bit about what we’re up to.
Look forward to meeting soon!
